Thomas the Train Cupcake Toppers

I just finished making cupcake toppers for a Thomas the Train Birthday party for my friend Jennifer.  Although the pictures were taken on my cell phone, I thought I'd share them any way.  Jennifer, I hope you like them!  :)

Wisely Planned Birthdays: Circus Theme....again!

I found this party today, when it was featured on The Birthday Girl , and since my friend Kelley has requested my help for her daughter's Circus-themed 1st birthday, I thought it appropriate to feature this party, today.

Viv, over at ish & chi, posted her son's 1st birthday and it was so cute! Head over to her original post for more details.  Enjoy!

Wisely Planned: A BaByQ themed, Couples Shower

I've been looking around for some ideas for a couples baby shower.  A close friend of ours is having Baby #2 (it's a girl this time!) and we thought it would be great to have a couples baby shower for her this time around (assuming she agrees to let us throw her the shower in the first place...)  We wanted to have a shower that the men could be involved in as well.

While snooping around various blogs, I came across Roeshel's creative co-ed baby shower with a BBQ (or BaByQ theme).  It's so clever!  You can go directly to her blog, the DIY Showoff, to see her original post.  Below are some pictures but if you head over to her original post, you can get all the awesome details.  From the lottery tickets to the Daddy Beer Guzzling game! Enjoy!

Petunia Pickle Bottom: Proceeds to help Haiti

I get emails sent to me from the Petunia Pickle Bottom Outlet (I've purchased a couple diaper bags from them). I thought I would share with you all the fact that they are having a sale and 25% of the proceeds from that sale will go to the town of Jacmel, Haiti and the orphans at the Hands & Feet Project.  Go here for more information. You can save 30% to 60% off those amazing handbags, all while helping children in Haiti. Double the greatness!

I've discovered Bakerella!

I know, I know......I'm a little late getting on THIS train. I started my blog last summer and during my party research I have seen the name "Bakerella " countless times!  I kept reading about how it would be a great idea to add Cake Pops to the Amy Atlas inspired dessert tables at parties.  So finally, today, I decided I had to find out what all the fuss was about.....

OH MY GOD!  Cake Pops !  They look sooooo good!  :)  I want to start baking right now!  ((insert screeching car sound here))  Any one who knows me knows I do NOT bake.  I'm the girl that emails great looking dessert recipes to friends so THEY can bake them and I can come over for a taste test.  :) (I did this with my friend Kolini just 2 weeks ago....the HWTM Strawberry Shortcake was AWESOME, by the way!!)

However, Bakerella has inspired me!    For those of you interested in trying it as well, here is the recipe .  Wish me luck, ladies!

These are the original Cake Pops. They look DELICIOUS!!

This is just a sample of the fancy cake pops.  So creative!

***DISCLAIMER: Do not be misled!  My attempt at Cake Pops will most likely NOT look like these! But I will try any way!***

Cowboy Inspiration

I've been looking for inspiration for Caden's birthday party, which will be a Cowboy/Western theme.  I've come up with this board so far but if any one has any great decor ideas, I would LOVE to hear them!

You might recognize some of the pictures from the Hostess Blog or from Poca Cosas, among others.

It's Official ya'll!!!!

A Cowboy-themed Birthday party it is!!

As I mentioned in yesterday's posts, I'm starting to plan Caden's 2nd birthday party.  It's not until August, but I need to be prepared and need to keep my eyes peeled for sales and cool things on ebay and etsy.  So we talked last night, and it looks like we're having a Cowboy Round Up!!  My husband, Paul, loves the idea!  We already went ahead and bought a couple things on eBay today.  We got a WANTED poster for pictures and a few stick horsies for the kiddos.

As I have continued to look for ideas, I came across another AMAZING cowboy (cowgirl) party by Susan at Poca Cosas blog.  It's the cutest party.  I will FOR SURE be copying the horsies in the milk can idea.  :)

Thanks for the great ideas Susan!  I enjoy following your blog!  All of you who don't follow her yet definitely SHOULD!!!   :)

Wisely Planned Birthdays: Circus Theme

As I mentioned in my post today, I am looking for theme ideas to use for my son's 2nd birthday.  My 2nd option is a Circus/ Carnival theme.........and what's a circus theme without featuring Kara @ Kara's Party Ideas' amazing circus party for her little guys?  That party was amazing!!!  Check out her original post here.

This party is just amazing!  Kara did a fabulous job!  No wonder she won the Summer Entertaining Contest at HWTM last year!

Another notable circus party was Meredith's (again...).  I already posted her cowboy ideas in the post before this one.  While looking at that one, I saw the Circus themed one as well.  She's very talented!  You can see her original post here.

Tutus & Turtles also has a great Circus themed party!  See her post here.

Thanks to all 3 of you ladies!  You are so creative!

*I found more Carnival themed ideas on the Martha Stewart site. There are some very cute, cost-effective tips here. *
