Got Milk......and Cookies?: B's 1st Birthday!

A year ago Brooklyn came into the world with the intention of bringing her parents joy sooner than they had been prepared for.  She was born three months early and was a resident of the NICU for another two months.  Since the day she took her first breath it was evident that she was here on her own terms.  She’s a burst of energy and such a tough cookie {pud-um-pum-pssh!}    So naturally, her mom thought that a milk & cookies themed 1st birthday party would be the perfect fit for this little princess and she enlisted me to help out with all the little details of the party.  I couldn’t make it the day of the event, due to a previous commitment, but I feel very fortunate to have been asked to participate so fully in her big day.

Her mom {and one of my very close friends} is very indecisive.  She had no idea what she wanted or how she wanted to do it. She was absolutely "party illiterate."  HA!  Who am I kidding?!  She was organized and precise to-the-tee. She knew exactly what kind of cookies there would be and how many.  She knew exactly what shade of pink she wanted and she even knew exactly where each lantern and pom would be hung.  And naturally this was relayed to me in the form of a very detailed file folder.  Complete with pictures, measurements and swatches.  {No joke!}  I, of course, LOVED this!!!  As you might recall, I did the same when "helping" my friends plan my baby shower.

From the gender specific cookie cutter favors, the cookie decorating station and the milk & cookies was all so detailed! You did a great job Nini! And Brooklyn, you're one lucky little girl.  Your mom has officially become a Party Planner.  Every party from now on will surely knock your socks off! Happy Birthday, beautiful girl!!

  1. Picnic tables by a lake? Hard to beat that venue for a party...and such a sweet one this is!
