{Comforts of Home Giveaway} The Books I Would Love to Read...

I used to commute via train and subway, on a daily basis, from my home in Orange County, to the heart of downtown Los Angeles. Doing that allowed me to save gas, avoid wear and tear on my car, come home a much happier wife & mommy and most importantly, read.  I would read from the moment I stood on the train platform until the moment I walked off the subway.  My face would be intently buried in my Kindle (mainly because of the great reads I'd find in the Kindle store, but also to avoid contact with some of the strangers riding the train.  Some of them were just downright scary!).  All of this, however, ended about two years ago, when I changed jobs, which also changed my commute to just about 15 minutes each way.  I'm certainly not complaining, and neither is my family, but this change resulted in a drastic change in my reading habits.

Sadly, I can't find the time to read my Kindle anymore.  Between, work, mom and wife duties, blogging and social media events, training for another half marathon and spending time with my family, I'm left with no down-time, terribly exhausted and practically cross-eyed! However, one of my New Year's resolutions (yes, I already have one in mind) is to read more, so as to be able to partake in the Book Club at my work (mainly because the prospect of wine and girl talk seems so exciting!).  That being said, I have compiled a list of books I'd love to read soon; my Kindle (the original paperwhite version) needs to be dusted off! My goal is to start reading some of these books (below) so that come Mother's Day, my husband might find it in his heart to upgrade my Kindle to the newest paperwhite version!  But first, he must see me actually use my current Kindle.  So in an effort to upgrade my Kindle, these are the books I'd like to read this Winter (and Spring):

  1. Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn
  2. The Book Thief by Markus Zusak
  3. The Husband's Secret by Liane Moriarty
  4. The Secret Keeper: a novel by Kate Morton
  5. Where We Belong by Emily Giffin
What else am I missing?  Any recommendations?  What's on your book list?  Are you in need of a Kindle upgrade?  If you are, I've got a giveaway for you! And if you're NOT looking to get a Kindle, I've still got a giveaway for YOU!  Who needs Cyber Monday when you can win stuff?!
